Introduced in 2006, Apple's MacBook Pro series set a new standard for portable high-performance laptops in the Mac ecosystem. Originally available in 13-inch, 15-inch, and 17-inch models, the 17-inch variant was discontinued in 2012. The initial models replaced PowerPC-based PowerBook G4 with Intel® Core™ processors, marking a major transition. Over time, features like unibody aluminum shells, high-resolution Retina Displays, and Touch Bar integration have continuously evolved, boosting performance and user experience.

In 2008, the unibody design debuted with 13 and 15-inch models, followed by a 17-inch version in 2009.
